I have nurtured a passion for Japanese animation since my childhood, but not all works shine equal. It was Digimon Adventure that first introduced me to the joy of sinking my teeth in a fun story that doesn't shy away from bringing along as many juicy meta references as possible. There I've found Luis Borges, Baudrillard, Joseph Campbell, Lovecraft, but more importantly, the wonders of symbology, Neoplatonism, and Hermetism.Fast forward to 2020, it's no surprise a game inspired by Gnosticism like Genshin Impact got my attention. Tartaglia has joined my pantheon of comfort characters and I've embraced Chilumi has my self-indulgent alchemical wedding symbol since.
