I've loved Japanese animation since I was a child, but I believe the series that really hooked me early on was Digimon Adventure. It mixed fun storytelling with clever meta references that opened my eyes to literary figures like Luis Borges, Baudrillard, Campbell, and Lovecraft... and to cool stuff like symbology, Neoplatonism, and Hermetism, even if a lot of it was more style than substance. xDWhile studying art history and new media at the University of Coimbra, I teamed up with fellow otaku friends to form the "Kanpai" crew. We hosted manga workshops and even ran our own ACG convention (Kanpai Coimbra) for a few years, creating a space to share what we loved.By 2020, of course Genshin Impact got my attention! Tartaglia quickly joined my pantheon of comfort characters, and Chilumi became my quirky little symbol of an alchemical wedding since. :P
